An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health and Safety Advisor to join Wiltshire Police’s Health and Safety team. Under the supervision of the Head of Health and Safety, you will assist in providing comprehensive health and safety advice and support across Wiltshire Police. You will be joining an enthusiastic team who are passionate about bringing Wiltshire Police’s health and safety policies to life and providing the highest level of service to our officers, staff, volunteers and visitors. The role provides an opportunity to work and influence safety in all areas of policing. The nature of policing means this role offers an opportunity to develop your professional knowledge and competency within a varied and safety critical environment, dealing with issues as diverse as operational policing and custody, alongside the traditional health and safety advisor functions of inspection, audit, training delivery and accident management. The ideal candidate will have a passion for safety, demonstrate excellent communication skills, be highly organised and a people person. A willingness to work flexibly and proactively is also required. LOCATION: Primarily based at Devizes (Wiltshire Police Headquarters), with regular travel across Swindon and Wiltshire as required.
HOURS OF DUTY: Normal working hours will be Monday to Friday, there will also be the need for infrequent evening and weekend working as required. We can offer flexible working arrangements.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS: • Hold the NEBOSH General Certificate • Have effective written and verbal communication skills • Have good organisational skills • Hold a UK driving licence • Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel is essential
